RAILS distinguishes editorial and scientific responsibilities:
Association AIMIL, the journal’s publisher, supports its operation and dissemination while respecting the independence of scientific decisions.
The editor-in-chief sets the journal’s direction with the committees, oversees peer review and assumes scientific responsibility for all published content, including special issues.
The editorial board supports manuscript handling, reviewer selection and editorial decisions, ensuring the quality and fairness of the process.
The scientific committee advises on the journal’s direction and contributes its expertise. Members may be invited to review manuscripts within their areas of competence, subject to their independence.
Committee membership is reviewed periodically. Anyone with a conflict of interest withdraws from the handling of and decision on the manuscript.
Guest editors are appointed following a review of their expertise and proposal. They work under the editor-in-chief’s supervision. Special issue articles follow the same peer-review requirements as other articles. Guest editors’ contributions are handled by an independent editor and account for no more than 25% of the articles in the issue.
