Abstract

This paper proposes a conceptual model aimed at identifying the territorial determinants of logistics chain sustainability and at discussing their potential role in the location attractiveness of multinational transport firms. The approach relies on a structured literature review and on the analysis of secondary data from institutional sources (HCP, TMSA, World Bank, OFPPT, ONCF). The model articulates five territorial determinants-infrastructure and intermodality, territorial governance, technological innovation, humain capital, and energy transition and environmental sustainability- around a territorial logistics performance variable, itself assumed to condition the attractiveness of multinational transport firms. An indicative application of the model to the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (TTA) region highlights structuring assets (the Tanger Med port ecosystem, advanced intermodality, digitalization) as well as territorial asymmetry between the Tangier hub and peripheral provinces. Being exploratory and conceptual in nature, the study paves the way for further empirical work to statistically test the propositions formulated here.
